About Us

Welcome to the Karate Philosophy website!

Karate Philosophy is run by Sophia and Pax. We both love karate and martial arts in general and have experience in Shotokan and Goju Ryu.

On this site, we share our learning and insights along the way and we hope you’ll find something valuable to support your martial arts journey. We strive to update the site regularly, so please check back often for new content.

Our mission is to make the site an extensive, quality, and free source of references for all karate practitioners.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to reach out. We’d love to hear from you! We reply to all emails (except spam 🙂)

Writing for Us

We welcome guest posts and occasionally publish them. If you are passionate about karate and martial arts in general and have ideas, insights, or personal experience that you think might benefit fellow martial artists, we would love to hear from you.

If you’re looking for free advertising for your dojo, feel free to reach out too – we love karate and we’d be happy to help in any way we can.

All of our articles are written by humans (that’s us! :-)). We use AI for correcting typos, improving grammar, and enhancing flow, but we never use it to write the articles themselves. All of our content is copyrighted. While fair use is allowed under the law, if you’d like to republish an article in its entirety, please contact us first. We generally allow republication with proper attribution, but we always ask that you reach out to us beforehand, thank you!

Support Us

If you find something useful, we’d greatly appreciate it if you could share our site with fellow martial artists, friends, and family.

We display ads to help cover some of the costs of maintaining the site, so we kindly ask that you consider not blocking them. We understand that ads can be annoying, which is why we strive to keep them minimal and ensure they don’t interfere too much with your experience. However, if you prefer to block them, that’s perfectly fine too – we hope you continue to enjoy the site’s content!

Karate Philosophy Store

We also have a store featuring merchandise for karatekas and martial artists. If you’re looking for inspiring karate gears or want to support us in creating more free, high-quality content, please check out our store. Our collection includes not just clothing, but also top-notch workout gear, everyday apparel, and thoughtful gifts for loved ones or fellow martial artists.

The designs belong to us and all orders are fulfilled by TeeSpring. We earn a small commission from each sale, which helps cover the costs of maintaining the site and supports our efforts to produce free content. We’ve set our margins low ($1-$2) to keep prices affordable and competitive, but please note that TeeSpring’s base costs and shipping fees can make some items more expensive than expected. In addition, as TeeSpring offers print-on-demand services with no minimum order (it can print just one shirt and ship it off to you), it can be a little pricier than mass-market products.

We’ve ordered some sample products from TeeSpring to test, and the quality seems decent. However, shipping can be a bit slow, so if you’re planning to order a gift for someone special, please be sure to plan ahead and allow plenty of time for delivery.

We are very much against consumerism, so please only purchase if you genuinely need something for yourself or as a gift for someone special and if you truly love our designs 🙂 Your support, no matter how small, means the world to us.

If you need a design to be further tailored to your needs (for example, adding a dojo logo or slogan), please don’t hesitate to contact us – we’d be happy to help.

Stay safe, train hard, and thank you for visiting our site!

Ganbatte!
